DDAP | UNIVERSAL PPD PROJECT
Resources

IMPORTANT NOTE: Creating PDF files using Adobe PDFWriter, and saving files from Mac OSX and Adobe InDesign, are NOT currently recommended. The recommended process is to save the file as a Postscript file, then distill it to a PDF file, using the recommended DDAP settings and procedures, then convert it to PDF/X1-a using one of the tools currently available. (See PDF/X Implementers and Products for a listing of PDF/X conversion tools.)

NOTE: If you are using a program (i.e. PageMaker) that uses a specific font (i.e. Helvetica) for its page information, and the font is not loaded on the system, the DDAP Distiller joboptions are set to cancel if the font can not be embedded. This means a PDF file will not be created. There are two workarounds for this problem:

1) Turn off the page information feature in the program.
2) Change Distiller joboptions - When Embedding Fails: "Warn and Continue".
